Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering 14,763 square kilometres of seemingly endless plains, kopjes and woodlands. It is the oldest ecosystem on earth and supports the greatest concentration of large mammals anywhere in Africa. The annual wildebeest migration — a continuous clockwise circuit of over 1.5 million animals — is the defining natural spectacle of the continent. Beyond the migration, the Serengeti offers outstanding year-round wildlife viewing with large prides of lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and buffalo, along with over 500 bird species. Hot air balloon safaris over the plains at dawn are among Africa's most memorable experiences.
