Sahara Desert (Merzouga)

Sahara Desert (Merzouga)

Merzouga is a small village on the edge of Erg Chebbi, a magnificent sea of sculpted orange sand dunes that stretch up to 150 metres high and extend roughly 22 km long and 5 km wide. This is the Sahara that travellers dream about — a cinematic landscape of shifting dunes, desert silence, and impossibly starry nights. Visitors arrive by 4x4 from Fès or Marrakech (or a scenic train journey to Erfoud), then mount camels for the classic sunset ride into the erg to a luxury or traditional desert camp. Music, local food, and the pre-dawn sunrise over the dunes make this an unforgettable experience.
