Mahé Island

Mahé covers just 154 km² but packs in extraordinary diversity — from the colourful market and clock tower of Victoria, East Africa's smallest capital, to the lush jungle of Morne Seychellois National Park rising to 905 m, and 68 spectacular beaches around the island's sculpted granite coastline. Beau Vallon on the north coast is the most developed beach, with water sports, restaurants, and a lively Friday evening market. The southern end of the island hosts wilder, more dramatic beaches such as Anse Intendance, famous for its powerful surf, and Anse Soleil, a secluded cove of extraordinary beauty. Mahé serves as the hub for exploring the entire archipelago, with ferry and light aircraft connections to all other islands.
